Approved Apprenticeship Provider
North Lindsey College is proud to announce that they are officially an approved apprenticeship training provider under the new Skills Funding Agency Register.
The Skills Funding Agency have approved the application for the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers and North Lindsey College is delighted to be given the green light to continue to deliver apprenticeships from 1st May 2017.
The College is a lead provider for apprenticeships in North Lincolnshire and this accreditation backs up the fantastic work that the College is involved in with local employers.
An apprenticeship is a form of vocational training enabling people to ‘earn while they learn’ the skills necessary to succeed in their chosen career combining on the job and off the job training. Apprenticeships are suitable are for existing managers and staff as well as new staff.
The accreditation evidences that the College is highly placed to support local employers and businesses with their apprenticeship needs.
As part of the changes to apprenticeships this year, apprenticeship frameworks are gradually being replaced by apprenticeship standards. A framework currently includes a knowledge and a competency based qualification along with functional skills English, maths and sometimes IT. The new standards are quite different and standards vary offering a blend of educational qualifications, professional qualifications, knowledge, skills and behaviours plus a range of assessment methods.
Callum Williams has recently started an apprenticeship and said: “College has been great with really good tutors; they will go out of their way to help you as long as you apply yourself.
“The apprenticeship is going really well and I know it’s a great stepping stone in my career. I will get work experience out of this and also qualifications at the same time.
“I would recommend someone else to do this route, the College staff help you not just in your course but also to find an apprenticeship.”
