Student Dances to Success
Dance student Devon Piatt-Panton has been offered places at two reputable London dance centres to pursue his dreams.
Devon had to have an interview with the dance tutor at North Lindsey College before he was accepted onto the course. Devon stated that he hadn’t had much dance experience other than at school and a few ballroom tuitions; dance tutor Katie Lampkowski saw potential in Devon and accepted him on the course where Devon has gone from strength to strength and has even competed in competitions with the rest of the class.
Devon had to demonstrate at the interview his skills in ballet, jazz, commercial dance and contemporary dance. Devon has now accepted a place at the Creative Academy to study for a BA (Hons) in dance.
Katie Lampowski said, “Devon has continued to impress me with his work ethic and determination to achieve the highest standard of work possible. He started the course without any dance experience but now is a highly skilled technician and performer.
“He has achieved a very high standard of practical work and demonstrated that he is a versatile dancer. He has been a great role model to the other males in the group and has mentored them this year. All his hard work has paid off as he was offered places at every stage school and University applied for. He has decided to further his training at Creative Academy in London, where he will be studying a BA Honours in Dance.”
Devon particularly wants to be in the entertainment business on television or a backing dancer. Devon said: “I absolutely love the course and the tutor, Katie, is the best I’ve ever met. She challenges us and pushes all of us to do our best. Without her I wouldn’t have improved as much as I have and I wouldn’t be here today without her.”
