Over 60 members of staff at North Lindsey College celebrated more than a decade of service at a celebratory lunch on Wednesday 13th December.
Total service from these dedicated members of staff equates to 1046 years! Each staff member received a badge to honour their service with a handwritten personalised card from the Principal, Mick Lochran.
Staff at the College were delighted to share a special lunch with their peers and were recognised for their commitment and dedication to the College. Nineteen staff members were recognised for over twenty-five years’ of service, twelve staff were recognised for fifteen or more years’ of service and twenty-nine staff members were recognised for ten or more years’ service.
Bev Fowler (Engineering Technician) has worked at the College for 39 years and is the longest serving member of staff and said, "I love my job. I love making a difference to young people's lives and when they have achieved I feel like I have achieved.
"The College has moved with modern times and I believe we really have the best facilities. We are respected, we have opportunities and most of all we are appreciated. I have enjoyed my 39 years at North Lindsey College and I'm not ready for retirement yet."
The Human Resources team held the event in recognition of long serving staff recognising the commitment and dedication from its Managers, Governors, teaching staff and support staff.
The event, now in its third year, was born from suggestions made by the Staff Community Group with the aim to celebrate and recognise the commitment and dedication staff had given to the College over such a period of time. Scott Wilson (Head of Human Resources) and also a long serving team member started work at the College as an apprentice and has since progressed to management level. Scott commented, “It was a fantastic event and a real pleasure to be involved with. It brought colleagues from all areas of the College together and was great to hear the numerous stories, memories and experiences being shared throughout the event.”
Trish Riordan received recognition for 25 years’ service and said, "It is an honour and privilege to work at North Lindsey College and I passionately believe in the quality of courses and the teaching delivered. All 400 staff pull together and work in a respectful culture where we are encouraged to progress."
Mick Lochran, Principal said, “It was a privilege to be part of the outstanding service awards. It is incredible to hear first-hand about the support, flexibility and commitment these 60 staff have provided for colleagues and our students for a combined 1000 work years. They are truly inspirational.”
