North Lindsey College student recognised at Hairdresser of the Year 2018
Lee Stafford recently awarded prizes to the winners in the Lee Stafford 2018 Hairdresser of the Year competition held at the L’Oréal HQ in London. The entries were judged by celebrity hairdressers Errol Douglas MBE, Sophia Hilton and Lee himself assisted by hair professionals Tony Wood and Mike Saunders.
The task of choosing the winners proved to be a difficult one due to the high quality results on display. A Facebook live broadcast, by TV personality Jessica Stafford, added to the excitement of the event. College students from Lee Stafford Academies, along with their models, attended the event and demonstrated a high level of skill to the judges.
In addition to styling, colouring, cutting the competitors also exhibited their skills in the newly introduced LSE Mash-up category.
North Lindsey College student Kay Kline was a category 1 winner, coming third overall.
The awards were presented in the beautiful St Paul’s centre in Hammersmith where the winners and participants were delighted to take to the stage to receive recognition for their efforts.
North Lindsey College became part of the Lee Stafford Academy last year, which sees students trained the “Lee Stafford way”. Lee has a personal vision to create the best training opportunities in the world for would-be hairdressers through partnerships with a select number of Further Education Colleges. His rise to celebrity status started from cutting hair in his mum’s dining room, to now having 32 awards under his belt for his product range, as well as being the face of TV hairdressing and having accolades such as Best British Hairdresser, Hair Magazine Hairdresser of the Year and Men’s British Hairdresser of the Year.
