College Staff Gear up for the Tour of Britain
Staff at North Lindsey College are gearing up to celebrate stage three of the Tour of Britain.
The cycling event is due to take place, across North Lincolnshire, on Tuesday 5th September. It will begin at Normanby Hall at 11.00am and finish outside the College at between 15.00-16.00pm.
Thousands are expected to attend the finish line at the prestigious event, which has been sponsored by the College. Spectators will be able to watch the event along the route as well as at the finish line along Kingsway. The Council will be hosting a race village and promotional zone in Central Park. The race will finish with a presentation to the winners.
The College will be running a cycling and rowing competition throughout the event. The winner will receive a free Kingsway Fitness Suite membership.
Construction lecturer and cycling enthusiast, Chris Longbone, has been cycling competitively since 1990. Chris said, “We are working with the Council to help support the Tour of Britain. The Tour of Britain coming to North Lincolnshire is a great opportunity to promote cycling and wellbeing and will hopefully get more adults and children outside cycling and taking up the sport. It will be a great community event and most of all it will be fun.”
