Apprenticeship and ITEC Event

North Lindsey College will be hosting an Apprenticeship and ITEC Event at CATCH, Stallingborough on Monday 25th September 3.00-6.00pm.

The event is being held as part of CATCH Week to celebrate the launch of the new CATCH 4 Building.

It’s a chance for employers to find out more about taking on apprentices, full cost training and higher education programmes taught at The University Centre. Individuals interested in entering the engineering industry will be able to find out about current apprenticeship vacancies and the new ITEC programme taught at both British Steel and CATCH.

The new ITEC programme is a 46-week programme and will help prepare future engineers to enter the workforce or progress on to an advanced apprenticeship. The programme is being taught in partnership with the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board.

Current ITEC programme student, and former Sir John Nelthorpe student, Josh Dyer said, “The ITEC programme sets you up with practical hands-on skills to get a job or an apprenticeship. It’s not like school or college you are working in a real engineering environment with people from the industry.”

Oliver Simpson joined the programme after studying electrical installations at North Lindsey College. He said, ““I always knew I wanted to be an engineer. The skills you learn on the ITEC programme will set-up you up for a career for life. You are treated like an adult and part of the British Steel team and also receive a £25 bursary.”

Places are limited so those interested need to contact for an application form. The ITEC programme can be studied at CATCH, Stallingborough or at British Steel, Scunthorpe.
