Dance Student on the Road to Success
Dance student Alicia McCaig is preparing for one of the biggest adventures of her life as she prepares for Emil Dale Academy to study Musical Theatre.
Emil Dale Academy is based in Hitchin, North Hertfordshire and offers courses in Musical Theatre training. The academy trains people in musical theatre, acting, dancing, singing and produce full-scale productions accompanied by a live West End band and they work with performers from Wicked, Les Mis, Lion King, War Horse, Book of Mormon, Miss Saigon and many more.
Alicia had a rigorous interview process before she was accepted which included a Jazz workshop, acting monologue as well as preparing a song to which Alicia sang Breathe by In The Heights.
Alicia comes from a musical orientated family and was wanting to follow in the same path. Having already heard positive comments about the dance course at North Lindsey College, Alicia was keen to enrol and begin her journey to a life on the big stage.
Alicia has been involved in dance from a young age and also sings outside of her college timetable. She is also working as many hours as she can to fund her place. Her end goal is to perform in a West End production and is well on her way to achieve this.
Alicia said, “I am very excited to start at Emil Dale and move away. There are so many more opportunities. “I have really enjoyed my time at North Lindsey College and will be sad when I leave. My tutor Katie has totally prepared us for leaving College and progressing elsewhere, she is really strict with time keeping but this has really helped us for the future. I have met some really good friends here and will miss them but if you really want to improve – this is the best course to be on.”
