Celebrity hairdresser, Lee Stafford, delivered special workshop at North Lindsey College as part of the Lee Stafford Education Academy.

Lee Stafford Education work with partner colleges to deliver hairdressing training academies and create the best training opportunities for the next generation of hairdressers.  North Lindsey College became a part of the Academy last year, which has seen the celebrity stylist personally deliver workshops on campus to both students and local employers.

The masterclass involved Lee demonstrating his ‘Twisted Tong’ technique, or recipe, which is one of seventeen different recipes that students will learn as part of their in-house training.  All staff members have been given industry training to achieve the standards laid out by Lee Stafford.

Beauty therapy student Julia Rogozinska (18) was picked to be Lee’s model for ths day: “It’s really great to see a celebrity here at the College that also has his own brand.  It is great that he is trying to educate young people despite being as high up as he is.  I love my hair, it doesn’t normally hold so his products are great too!”

Lee has a personal vision to create the best training opportunities in the world for would-be hairdressers through partnerships with a select number of Further Education Colleges.  His rise to celebrity status started from cutting hair in his mum’s dining room, to now having 32 awards under his belt for his product range, as well as being the face of TV hairdressing and having accolades such as Best British Hairdresser, Hair Magazine Hairdresser of the Year and Men’s British Hairdresser of the Year.

Karon Smith, Curriculum Leader for Hair and Beauty: ''Lee carried out a highly engaging and inspiring session for prospective and current students including some of our valuable employers.  The session brought excitement and motivation to the forefront and also intrigued staff who are on their own personal journey learning and developing Lee Stafford's specialised skills and techniques.  This is a fantastic and unique opportunity for all current and future students and employers to be part of the Lee Stafford academy here at North Lindsey College''
