Construction Students Put Their Skills to Good Use

North Lindsey College construction students put their skills to good use whilst volunteering for the Youth Hostel Association.

The Youth Hostels Association (England & Wales) is a charitable organisation, registered with the Charity Commission, providing youth hostel accommodation in England and Wales

The construction students were helping the local environment whilst building up some work experience.   They worked on boundary fencing as well as a bike shed, reconditioning and repainting at the Youth Hostel Association in Thurlby.

The hostel has a peaceful garden enjoy in an unspoilt Lincolnshire village with a 15th century forge and annexe, it offers a quiet haven to those seeking a tranquil base whilst offering accommodation in dorms, triples and doubles.

Jamie Wakefield (Volunteering Partnerships Manager - YHA England and Wales) gave positive feedback from the work experience and said, “I am very happy to report that we had an excellent couple of days.  The students were very well behaved and enthusiastic and your staff, Kevin and Andrew, were superb at leading them.  Thank you all so much for all your help and hard work!”
