Getting Fit for the Health Tree Foundation
Kingsway Fitness Suite based at North Lindsey College is offering a one-off monthly membership of just £2, with all proceeds going to The Health Tree Foundation charity.
The Health Tree Foundation are a leading charity of choice for donations in the community, supporting a variety of projects across Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS. They are currently aiming to raise £150,000 for a maternity bereavement suite, for mothers experiencing maternity loss. The suite will enable grieving families access to a space for them to spend time with their baby away from the rest of the ward.
The partnership between the Kingsway Fitness Suite based at North Lindsey College and the Health Tree Foundation came about to promote health and wellbeing as well as raising awareness of the foundation to the public.
“It’s the time of year for giving and being generous,” says Alan Rayment (Kingsway Fitness Suite Manager) “We have wanted to organise some fundraising for this fantastic cause and felt a £2 membership fee to new members is a great way for everyone to be involved and raise awareness. So far we have had 30 new members sign-up and has had really positive impact - every little helps.”
The charity have already managed to raise £86,000 and they are hoping to reach the target early next year. Hayley Thompson (Community Champion) said, “I just want to say a big thank you. I am a big advocate of fitness and this is a great way of combining both as well as raising awareness to a bigger audience who may use the hospital or even the bereavement suite or their families in the future.”
The offer runs out on 10th December, however anyone wanting to leave a donation can via the Health Tree Foundation website at www.healthtreefoundation.org.uk or even leave a donation in one of the collection boxes at Kingsway Fitness Suite reception.
