Science Fair is Back at Local University Centre
The University Centre at North Lindsey College is preparing for its next annual Science Fair with students from engineering, bioscience and education demonstrating the fun behind science during February half term.
The Children’s University event has promised to be even bigger and better and is to be held on Wednesday 14th February 2018 with three sessions available to get involved in: 11am-1.00pm, 2.00pm-4.00pm and 6.00pm-8.00pm.
Last year saw a fantastic turnout with over three hundred children at the event, providing an excellent opportunity to experience and understand science through experiments.
The Science Fair is a free event and is traditionally aimed at children aged 5 years to 14, along with education practitioners and families. The event is also a validated activity for the Children’s University and passports will be stamped for attendance.
Caroline Fielder-Shattell, (Higher Education, Schools and Community Engagement Co-ordinator) said, “The event is being hosted for the fifth year running, we hope to engage with children and raise aspirations of young people across North and North East Lincolnshire. This year we are running a free prize draw on the day to win a Science Kit. There will also be a range of sandwiches, snacks and drinks which can be purchased throughout the day both in the Events Centre and also in Costa on site. Come along and have a great day.”
More events have been planned for the year for the Children’s University. For further information contact the department via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone on 01724 294125.
