College offers New Opportunities
North Lindsey College is holding its first Advice and Enrolment event of the new year, to highlight opportunities to school leavers, along with those looking to return to education or re-train and upskill.
The event takes place on Wednesday 16th January, 4.30pm-8.00pm.
DN Colleges Group, which encompasses North Lindsey College and Doncaster College, has produced its first-ever joint part-time brochure. Offering programmes within locations across Scunthorpe and Doncaster to enable more opportunities to the public in a wider variety of areas.
Accounting, beauty, ceramics, textiles, hairdressing, human resources, personal training, floristry, hospitality, cake icing, video editing, CAD, welding, healthy eating, mental wellbeing are just some of the courses available. A whole section of courses are also dedicated to the unemployed, helping them to re-train and get back into the workplace.
“Courses for the unemployed take place mainly at the Ongo building in Scunthorpe town centre, which is convenient and accessible’” said Helen Rayner, Adult Skills and Re-Engagement, at North Lindsey College.
“We offer a range of courses to cater for those seeking to get back into work, including maths, English, ITC, business administration and customer service. We also offer confidence and assertiveness, managing money and retail courses. There is a full range of health & social care courses also on offer for anyone who is considering a career in childcare or health care. If there’s a course you need to get back into work, come and speak to us and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.”
