College Responds to Scientific Business Demands

North Lindsey College is offering new apprenticeships to meet demand in the science industry.

The two new level three apprenticeships are the Science Industry Maintenance Technician apprenticeship and the Science Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship; which are suitable for a range of employers in the region.

Jill Cooper (Director- Business Development and Apprenticeships) stated: “As the College is being approached to deliver process training for employers we are investing in additional resources to be able to offer full apprenticeships in 2019 alongside shorter qualifications and training. We always aim to respond to employers needs and we already deliver over 30 apprenticeship standards across our apprenticeship provision, which offers over 70 apprenticeships from level 2 to 6. It is also important to ensure our delivery teams are experienced professionals from industry and we always welcome interest from individuals looking to make the transition from industry into full time, part time or occasional opportunities for teaching, training and assessing. We are looking forward to starting delivering these new apprenticeships including the science industry maintenance technician in 2019.”

Science Manufacturing Technicians work in a wide range of job roles and this type of apprenticeship could lead to a career in industries such as chemical, petrochemical, polymer, primary and secondary pharmaceutical and biotechnology. The Science Industry Maintenance Technician apprenticeship could lead to job roles in installation, maintenance, testing and repair of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation. The manufacturing role would operate the systems and equipment, involved in the production of products.

The apprenticeships can be started at any time throughout the year and has a typical duration of 36-42 months.  For further information regarding apprenticeships at North Lindsey College call 01724 281111 or email employertraining@northlindsey.ac.uk
