Twenty students celebrated at the event, with nine of those being staff at North Lindsey College. ''The graduation was a proud and memorable day and was so nice to spend it with other work colleagues who studied with me over the two year course.'' Said Kayleigh Grierson, Travel tutor.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Education, commonly known as the PGCE, is one of the most popular academic qualifications for teaching. Offered in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, PGCEs are designed to enhance and increase academic training, preparing students for life as a teacher.

Rachel Carter, Higher Education Programme Leader Education at the University Centre in Scunthorpe said, “We are thrilled to see so many of North Lindsey's lecturers graduate at Huddersfield University, after successfully completing their professional graduate certificate in education. This is a demanding course of study, and an internationally recognised professional qualification signalling that a practitioner has met the rigorous professional standards required to be a teacher in the lifelong sector.

She continued, “I would like to congratulate all our PGCE graduates for their hard work, persistence and commitment to their students.   It has been a pleasure to support their development over the last two years, and I wish them every success in their future careers, as professionally recognised and accredited educators in the lifelong learning sector.
